The Guelph Humane Society held its 16th Annual Wiggle Waggle Walkathon on May 25, 2008. There were close to 100 two-legged and four-legged participants in the walk. Total proceeds raised are estimated at $15,000, which will assist homeless animals at the shelter and give them a "New Leash on Life". HWC sponsored the event and provided information on urban wildlife issues.

Participation in this event was part of Humane Wildlife Control's partnership initiative , recognizing the valuable contribution that humane societies, SPCA's, animal control organizations and educational institutions make to the lives of animals every day.
