Alarm gets birds to buzz off

Ottawa's World Exchange Plaza is experimenting with a device designed keep pigeons and other birds away from its Queen Street entrance

The device, a Bird B Gone bird alarm, is mounted on the glass awning at the plaza entrance to protect the glass from the unsightly attention of pigeons. Bruce Donoho, the president and CEO of California-based Bird B Gone, said the noise is a combination of a distress call and a predator call.
